We are looking forward to an exciting new RE year.
For everyone’s safety and well-being we ask that you and your children review and agree to the following guidelines:
UUFBR Religious Education Policies
- Parents are expected to pick up their children from the RE classrooms or nursery immediately after service so as not to tax the teachers and caregivers.
- Children should not be on the playground unsupervised.
- The hose on the playground is strictly off limits. And, digging under the pavers is not allowed.
- Please check that gates to the parking areas remain closed so that no little ones can wander out.
- Please remind the children to shut doors completely behind them. Our recent spate of burglaries has been attributed to exterior doors left ajar.
- Families are responsible for cleaning up toys moved on the playground, in the classrooms and in the nursery. In the past, we have been disrespectful with the Sunflower’s space, leaving them to clean up after us.
- Should your children enjoy drawing on the chalkboards/dry erase boards, please be sure they have cleaned them before leaving so they are ready for the next group who uses the room.
- While we encourage children to leave their personal items (food, hair bands, lizards, toys, etc.) at home, we understand the deep attachments to these. So, we ask that children keep their personal items with them so our house of worship remains uncluttered and peaceful.
Guidelines for UUFBR RE Kids
1 – For safety reasons, you must stay with your class until your parents come to pick you up.
2 – The adult in charge (not just anyone you see in the hallway) must know where you are at all times. When you are
not in class, we rely on caregivers to watch out for you, and they cannot do that if you wander off.
3 – Older children, do not go out of the playground gates. The littler ones like to follow you and may wander out onto a
busy parking lot.
4 – When you exit the Sanctuary and other buildings, be sure that the door is latched securely behind you. Burglars
have taken advantage of unsecured doors. Please help protect our space.
5 – The hose on the playground is off limits. Water play has caused too much damage that has been left for the
Sunflower group to clean up.
6 – Do not move or dig under the pavers/walkway on the playground. The path is not safe if a paver isn’t completely
flat. If someone gets hurt the Fellowship will get in trouble.
7 – If you move anything on the playground (pots, balls, trikes, etc.) you must put it back where you found it. Not only
do we care about keeping our own surroundings tidy, we share this space with others and must respect them as well.
8 – Please be sure to erase the chalkboards/dry erase boards after you draw on them so they are clean for the next
group who needs them.
9 – If you are going to have personal items with you, keep them with you. You’re not allowed to leave your shoes,
food, hair bands, lizards, toys, etc. lying about your own house – please don’t do it in a house of worship either.
Thank you for your cooperation.
