THE EPA GRANT

Dr. Debra Weiss-Randall gave an update about the EPA Grant. Delray Beach and Pearl City have different profiles. Work in Delray Beach is through Toussaint L’Ouverture HS for Arts and Social Justice. Dr. Ashley Ridley and Lyanna Ridley have been serving as the Outreach Leaders in Delray Beach. Dr. Ashley Ridley, Lyanna Ridley and the TLHS students collected data at a Health Fair at TLHS, at St. Matthews Episcopal’s Elder’s group, and at a step dance competition at the Pompey Park Community Center. The Outreach Leaders in Boca Raton are LeJeune Goddard and Marie Hester. The neighborhood canvass was going slowly, so they decided to have a community event on Memorial Day. They served food in Dixie Manor on Memorial Day and had a good turnout. They had few volunteers, and were unable to collect oral histories. They also met with many people after church at Macedonia AME. We had a training at DISC’s meeting. Dr. Weiss-Randall went to Macedonia AME and collected oral histories.

CARPET

Sandra received estimates for each of the carpeted areas. Carpet tiles can’t be used on the stairs to the altar. The front of the stairs will be done in wood that matches the pulpit.
