Reproductive Justice

Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 18th after the service for our special guest speaker from EMA
EMA helps women in Florida with few resources access reproductive healthcare.
– Plan to invite your friends to this talk and Q&A session!
– Every contribution given to EMA in March, April and May will be matched by their national organization
During the month of May, UUFBR will be collecting travel kit items for women who need to leave the state to access care. There will be a packing party in June. More details to come!
Efforts are underway for a new pro-choice ballot initiative; progressive state legislators are introducing bills to end the extreme ban and to fight back against fake pregnancy clinics giving out false information. If you want more info please contact Jennifer Ligeti and/or sign up for email
from Floridians for Reproductive Freedom

Save the dates!
Healing Justice invites you to three upcoming events
Palm Beach Pride – We invite you to attend this event with us on Saturday, March 29th. The event is A LOT of fun and we plan to wear out UUFBR T-shirts to help spread the word about our Welcoming congregation. The event runs from 12:00 – 6:00 pm. More details to come.
On Thursday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm we’ll show the film Gratitude Revealed, the featured film of Faith Climate Action Week 2025. The film aligns with this year’s theme: “Communal Gratitude: Coming Together to Steward Sacred Earth.” Faith Climate Action Week is sponsored by Interfaith Power and Light, a Religious Response to Global Warming. The film is not available for home viewing yet, but is available to congregations during the month of April. Watch the trailer and I guarantee you won’t want to miss this!!!
On Sunday, May 18th at 12:00 pm, following the service, a speaker from EMA, Emergency Medical Assistance, will give a 30 minute talk about the current state of reproductive health care in Florida, followed by Q&A. EMA was founded in 1975 and is today the only abortion fund in Palm Beach County that assists people financially with pregnancy termination. EMA feels very strongly that every person should have access to safe, legal abortion care and that this access should not depend on someone’s zip code or bank account. Watch the eblasts for a new program coming soon with Rev. Edith – Read & Reflect. We’ll read short essays on justice issues and then discuss (no homework – just show up and we’ll read
together )
