Advocating for our Immigrant Neighbors in 2026
Join us for an update on the immigration enforcement situation in Palm Beach County and an overview of direct actions you can take to advocate for our immigrant neighbors. Topics will include:

Why Palm Beach County has the highest number of immigrant detentions in Florida.

The alarming surge of immigrant arrests in our county and state.

How 287g agreements create a local-state-federal agent alliance targeting immigrants.

Effects of the ending of Temporary Protected Status, including for our Haitian neighbors.
In the spirit of the UU shared value of generosity, we’ll also be collecting food and supplies for immigrant families in our community.
For families: White rice, beans (bagged, not canned, if possible), pasta, cooking oil, Maseca, Diapers and wipes, new or used children’s and infants’ clothing.
For day laborer immigrants: Sunscreen, cooling towels, umbrellas, salt tablets, instant cold packs.
Monetary donations are also always appreciated – checks should be payable to the Guatemalan-Maya Center or Caridad Center
