Phyllis B. Frank is a strong, expert trainer with excellent skills in leading and controlling discussions, always cutting edge. Together, we will watch a TED Talk, “We the People,” delivered by Native American activist Mark Charles. The video emphasizes the need for a more inclusive interpretation of “We the People” in the U.S. Constitution, reveals the historical exclusion of Indigenous peoples and other marginalized groups, and encourages us to recognize the importance of addressing systemic injustices in society. Our discussion offers a chance to share analysis, definitions, and ideas for reimagining democracy that include diverse voices and experiences, giving true meaning to the last phrase of the Pledge of Allegiance, “with liberty and justice for all.” Discussion to follow service.
