Healing Justice: Love in Action – May 2025 Highlights

At our May Healing Justice meeting, we grounded ourselves with a powerful reflection from the UUA’s Braver/Wiser newsletter:

“Even as fear abounds… may I notice the life-saving, persistent presence of Love.”

We heard from Dave about his deeply personal fight for reform in the juvenile and family justice systems, captured at FreeLC.org. His mission to turn pain into policy change is a call to all of us.

Our Racial Justice team is gearing up for a bold collaboration this summer: a multi-congregation book and film discussion series. We’ll begin with Widening the Circle of Concern before launching into Race: The Power of an Illusion, with screenings and dialogue sessions running through the fall.

PEACE continues its long-haul commitment to affordable housing advocacy. Currently they are working with corporations who might invest in their work.

Reproductive Justice team was energized by an inspiring talk about reproductive health care and justice efforts in Palm Beach County today. A donation packing party for EMA is planned for June 22—come write encouraging notes and help us send love in a tangible way.

Our group will have a booth at both Delray Beach Pride and Juneteenth on Saturday, June 14th. Please stop by to say hello!

We ended our meeting reminded of the ache and beauty of being awake to the world’s pain—and the power of being part of a group that chooses love and action anyway.

Want to get involved? Reach out—we’d love to have your voice at the table.
