This website (https://www.uufbr.org) is owned and operated by The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton (referred to in this policy as “UUFBR”, “us”, “we”, or “our”).. We recognize that visitors to our site may be concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information. This privacy policy attempts to address those concerns.

The first principle of Unitarian Universalism is to covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We believe that this principle impels us to protect the privacy of visitors.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

This website does not host any advertising, nor does it link to any pages that sell products outright. We do not place any cookies of our own on the website. However, having said that, we do use WordPress and host the site on a commercial web hosting service. We do have a Facebook icon on some of our pages which links to our Facebook page. We do have forms you may choose to fill out and thereby voluntarily provide us with personal information.
You may voluntarily fill out a form on our website to reserve seating at an event, to order from a fundraiser (such as a bakesale), or to respond to a questionnaire submitted by one of our members. Information from the first two samples is kept only as long as is needed, and is not shared with anyone outside the organization. Information from the third example may be kept by the sponsor of the questionnaire, and questions regarding such should be referred to that individual.
Payments made through this website are not handled directly by UUFBR, but are processed through Donorbox. We use secure and certified 3rd party processors to manage and retain credit card information. Actual payment info is processed by Paypal or Stripe (credit cards and bank transfers).
UUFBR does not collect any account numbers or IDs, and no transaction information other than name, date and amount is ever stored onsite at UUFBR. .

IP addresses

Our webhost, Hostgator, uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer https://www.uufbr.org/, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic. This information may also be used by Sitelock, the company that provides security for our website.

Cookies

WordPress uses “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services. They remind us who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you’ve done and told us before. They allow you to move back and forth in the website. The “cookie” is placed in your computer and is read when you move around in our website. Cookies let us take you to the information and features you’re particularly interested in. Legal requests: We may disclose information about you in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental requests.
To protect rights, property, and others: We may disclose information about you when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton, third parties, or the public at large. Email Privacy

UUFBR does not sell or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization. With your permission, the email address you provide to us may be added to our Constant Contact account (so that you can receive the twice-weekly e-blast and monthly Unicorn) and/or to the membership directory we maintain in EmpowerCHMS (which is not connected to https://www.uufbr.org/).

Social Media

UUFBR maintains a presence on Facebook and on NextDoor. The privacy policy on those social media sites is not covered under this policy, and UUFBR cannot be responsible for the privacy of those sites. UUFBR does post videos of Sunday services on Facebook. While we do not ‘tag’ anyone in these videos, various individuals may be recognizable in those videos. Anyone with a concern in this regard should email us .
